Shopify storefront for Almari — contemporary Indian apparel
A D2C apparel Shopify build that turns visual browsing into checkout. Clean category navigation, fast collection pages, mobile-first PDPs.
The brief
Almari — a contemporary Indian apparel brand — needed their Shopify storefront to do more than list SKUs. Their Instagram was doing the heavy lifting for discovery; the site was where sales quietly dropped off. Low add-to-cart, high bounce on collection pages, slow product detail load on mobile.
What we did
A custom Shopify theme designed around how shoppers actually browse apparel on a phone:
- Editorial collection pages — full-width hero per collection, styled model imagery, lookbook-style scrolling that matches how they post on Instagram
- Fast PDPs — size grids that don't require a click to reveal, inline size guide, variant switching with persistent image gallery
- Smart filtering — filter by fit, occasion, and size without reload; inventory-aware so nothing sold-out shows up as available
- Pincode checker on PDP — delivery timeline visible before checkout, no surprises
- Checkout polish — Shop Pay, Razorpay UPI, cash-on-delivery toggle (critical for D2C apparel in India)
Results
In the first 60 days post-launch:
- Add-to-cart rate 3.1× higher than the previous theme
- Checkout conversion +44% — mostly attributable to the pincode checker reducing cart-to-checkout drop-off
- LCP 2.1s on mobile from 4.8s — bounce on collection pages halved
Instagram is still where the brand lives. The site is now where it converts.
